I decided to put off building the new weight loss site for a week and opted to build a new bingo site instead.

My reasoning is that as I already have a well established Play Bingo site which was built in wordpress, I'd like to prove that Joomla is a much better option for search engine optimisation and a better CMS overall for building affiliate sites.

So.

Domain names for bingo sites are very thin on the ground and so I've ended up with a double hyphenated name.

It's not always ideal having to use these type of domain names and most people steer clear of them however having the keywords in the domain name is a good step in the right direction for really competitive markets and there's no need to sweat it.

I'm using the August template from http://www.rockettheme.co.uk to use as a base for the site.If you are going to use Joomla to build affiliate sites then getting a subscription here will save you hours of fannying about trying to find a decent template to use.

Also, these guys have built a superb installation routine which inputs all of the demo data for you so that you get a greal looking layout right off the bat. All you need to do is do the logo and you can start adding your stuff right away.

One essential tool that you need for building Joomla sites with these templates is Firebug. This tool will let you make changes to the CSS on the fly and hunt down the exact place in the CSS that you need to be looking for to make the change. This tool will save you days of development time.

So for day one this week I have the domain name set up, rocketlauncher installed, simple logo done and it's ready to go.

Tomorrow we'll start putting all the menu items together and do the core essentials like turning on search engine optimisation before we add all of the content on Thursday and Friday.
